Once upon a time, Bryshere Y. Gray was one of Hollywood’s shining stars. Known for his role as Hakeem Lyon on “Empire,” he’s now dealing with some serious mental health struggles and is putting it all out there on social media.

Man, it’s really sad to see.

Bryshere, an actor and rapper, made a name for himself on “Empire” and by playing Michael Bivins in “The New Edition Story.”

Since 2013, he’s been performing at various music festivals in Philly, including Jay Z’s Made in America Festival, The Roots’ Picnic Festival, and Power 99FM’s Powerhouse concert. He’s even opened for big names like Fabolous and 2 Chainz. His debut single “Respect” came out that same year.

In 2015, Bryshere kicked off his acting career on “Empire” alongside Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Howard, and Jussie Smollett. By March 2015, he and Smollett had solo deals with Columbia Records.

In 2016, he starred in the BET miniseries about New Edition, playing Michael Bivins. In 2018, he co-starred with Teyana Taylor in “Honey: Rise Up and Dance.”

Memphis Police Name Person of Interest in Sayso P and Sauce Walka Shooting

Memphis, TN – The Memphis Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for 21-year-old Jayden Dandridge in connection with a fatal shooting outside the FedEx centre in downtown Memphis. The incident, which occurred at approximately 2:42 p.m. on March 22, 2025, left up-and-coming rapper Letorian Hunt, known as Sayso P, dead and critically wounded Houston rapper Albert Mondane, known as Sauce Walka.

The police released this never before scene surveillance footage of the k#llaz after the M#rdar.

 

According to police reports, officers arrived at the scene at 170 Lt. George W. Lee Avenue to find two Black male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Hunt, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Mondane, 34, was transported to Regional One in non-critical condition.

Authorities have charged Dandridge with one count of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, and auto theft. Police believe the attack was targeted, though the full details behind the shooting remain under investigation.

A $6,000 cash reward is being offered for information leading to Dandridge’s arrest or the identification of any other individuals involved. Crime Stoppers is encouraging anyone with information to contact them at (901)-528-CASH or submit a tip anonymously at www.crimestopmem.org.
